In early 2019 Journey to Heal Ministries founder/CEO, Crystal Sutherland, and survivor and advocate, Cayla Parker, came together with various other leaders and advocates within the local Wilmington, NC area to launch the #END1IN10 Awareness Campaign. Their goal was simple: educate the public on the prevalence and impact of child sexual abuse and ignite positive change. Since its launch in 2019, the campaign has grown into an ongoing effort to provide prevention education through local and national awareness events connecting parents, educators, community leaders, pastors, and caregivers to the information, resources, and training needed to both prevent child sexual abuse and best reporting practices by state.  

Journey to Heal Ministries is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to helping survivors heal from past sexual abuse by leading them to hope in Jesus Christ, through providing support, education and community.  JTHM is a Partner in Prevention through Darkness to Light, and a local community partner with The Carousel Center of Wilmington, NC (a child advocacy center).
